Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at chopstickoutdoors@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

From a gear perspective, we’ve got you covered:

  • Rods and reels (if needed)
  • Flies and terminal tackle
  • Trip planning and local expertise

  • Fishing license for the state we’ll be fishing in
  • Sunglasses
  • Rain gear
  • Sunscreen — but don’t touch the line! :)
  • Snacks
  • Waders or wet-wading gear (leggings or shorts + hiking boots)
  • Shoes you don’t mind getting wet

Not at all! We have everyone from complete first-timers to seasoned anglers. Lessons can start from scratch, and trips are built around your goals — whether that’s learning the basics or chasing technical water.

We’ll be slinging bass, musky, northern pike, trout, carp, and panfish… but it depends on the time of year and where we’re fishing.

To reserve a date, you’ll need to put down a $100 deposit, which will be applied to the total cost of the trip.

Tipping your guide isn’t required, but it is customary in the fishing world. If your guide put you on fish, taught you something new, or helped make it a day to remember, a tip is a great way to show your appreciation.
